In January we commemorate Sanctity of Human Life Month, as we remember the 1973 Row v. Wade ruling that took place in January of that year.
We were not here then, reaching out to women facing unplanned pregnancies as we are today. Unfortunately, in 1973 women in this situation could go to a maternity home — but other than that, the Christian community had few answers.
The future? Who knows?
The future of legalized abortion could some day be in question. One day, new Supreme Court appointments might mean another challenge case that could mean reversal of Roe v. Wade. If that happens, we will rejoice that human life is once again protected in our country. But over the last 40 years, we’ve learned somehting. We’ve learned that we must be here, regardless of Supreme Court decisions or political views.
We must be here, because women and families still hurt over a crisis pregnancy, and someone must be there for them.
We need you — today.
So while the political winds blow in different directions, we plan to stand strong as we rest in the Lord. You can stand with us.
