3 Yeses During a Pandemic

As our national quarantine begins to shift toward a gradual re-opening, I am reminded of three critical decisions we’ve made at Raffa Clinic…our three “yeses” which we’re committed to now — and going forward. Here they are:

Thankfulness: We are saying “YES” to thankfulness, because we could not be more grateful for those who continue to support us, even through trying times. We realize some have had to step back from financial support, yet others who are in position to do so are stepping up in amazing ways.

Not only this, we receive encouragement from many of you almost daily, and we thank those of you who pray for this work, and for those who come in our door. To all of you helping in so many ways, “THANK YOU!!”

Re-Imagining: We chose to say “Yes” to re-imagining our services during this time. Social distancing may have changed some of what we do, but the ability to adapt is opening new doors for us as we connect virtually with our clients and patients in a meaningful way.

I’ts not likely we would have chosen this path, but the path came to us. Now that we see the possibilities, even after this time of social distancing is over, we can still apply much of what we are learning.

Faith: Faith becomes more powerful when tested. For our ministry, all of us individually and for you, our collective faith is being tested. As a ministry, we’re choosing to say “YES” to faith in a new way, knowing that while we cannot see what life will be like on the other side of this pandemic, the One we worship has a perfect view of the future — and He is worthy of our trust. We know regardless of what is in front of us, God is with us. And that’s enough for any of us.

These three “Yeses” will stick with us as we go forward. And go forward, we will. Thank you for walking with us during this time. We see a bright future ahead. And we face this future with an unequivocal, “YES!”

We are still here…

I wanted to post a quick update and let you know that Raffa Clinic is still open and providing much needed services to our county.

While the Covid-19 quarantine has changed the way we do business, we have found compliant ways to still meet the needs of our community as well as protect our staff and clients. Some of our staff is working from home and some of them are working in the clinic.

We are getting more calls than ever for women seeking pregnancy services and many who are considering abortion in these uncertain times. Our nursing staff is now providing phone and video consultation with them to help them navigate emotions and educate them on their options. We are also able to help them enroll in pregnancy Medicaid as well as connect with an OB/GYN in order to begin prenatal care.
We are also continuing to provide educational services via virtual meetings to our families who were already enrolled in our current classes.

Raffa has also been bombarded with calls from families in need that are requesting help with diapers, wipes, and formula. Even though some of these things may be available in some areas, most of the families requesting assistance are families who have been working and now have no income.

We still need your support!
Here are ways you can help from home:

Bunco for Babies!

Facebook Bunco Logo

We have gone Bunco for Babies and invite you to join us!

Raffa Clinic is proud to present our 2nd Annual Bunco for Babies fundraiser. Last year’s event was so successful that this year we will be hosting 2 nights of Bunco on Thursday, April 23rd AND Friday, April 24th at Ridgecrest Church sponsored by East Texas Print Shop.

Funds raised from the event will support the Raffa Clinic of Hunt County as we continue to serve women and families in our community by educating, equipping, and encouraging expectant and parenting families.

The fast-paced game of Bunco is played with a set of 3 dice as 4 players at each table attempt to roll as many of the target number as possible each round. There are six rounds per game with each game lasting 35-40 minutes. Our event will hold two games of play.

There will be plenty of door prizes, awards for our winners, and additional opportunities to financially support the ministry during the “warm-up” time (food & photos) from 5:30-6:45pm. Official game play begins at 7:00pm sharp.

“Our hope for this event is to provide a safe, clean, and fun night for our community while raising awareness and support for the Raffa Clinic,” said Threesa Sadler, Executive Director.

Two Grand Prize drawings will be held this year. Each drawing is valued at over $600 and includes 3 days, 2 nights at a cabin at Beaver’s Bend, dinner in Broken Bow, and more. Raffle tickets for this drawing can be purchased at with your tickets. BUT, you do not have to be present to win so buy a ticket even if you can’t join us. Storm Damage Update

As many of you may know, downtown Greenville was hit by a tornado (or non-tornado depending on who you ask) on June 19th. What most of you may not know is that Raffa Clinic also sustained damage from that storm as well and has been closed since the day of the storm.

Our clinic roof was badly damaged which caused a substantial amount of water to enter our building. Some of our offices lost everything and some of our counseling rooms had furniture items lost. There was a great deal of carpet damage and damage to some of our walls as well. BUT, the Lord is good and I am thankful to report that our sonogram machine, all medical supplies, and all patient medical records were completely spared!

We are working with our insurance company to get repairs done as quickly as possible, but since so many local businesses were also damaged, the process has moved quite slowly. At this point we still do not have a definitive answer as to what all the insurance will cover. We pray that they will cover most of the repair and replacement costs but we also know there is a portion we must pay. In the midst of all this, one of our two roof air conditioning units also quit. It was 20+ years old and well used. This was not from the storm so we were out of pocket an additional $4,800 that we weren’t planning on.

I am writing to ask you for financial support in the interim. Our insurance company has encouraged us to move forward with repairs (paint, flooring, wall repair, lighting, roof repairs, replacement of furniture damaged) and to not wait on their decision. We are just not able to do that financially. The replacement costs for the things listed are nearing $86,000!! We need your help to move forward with repairs and help cover the costs that insurance will not.

We have been blessed to have our classes continue thanks to Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville. They have graciously donated their building space so that our families in need of help with material assistance or to move forward with court cases aren’t on hold because of us being closed. However, due to zoning and state requirements, all of our medical services are shut down.

You may be asking…Why not just wait on the insurance company? Because every single day we are not open is a day that we are not there for the young woman considering abortion and seeking help. Every Single Day we are closed, lives are potentially lost!!

Because of your support in the past, I am asking you directly to help us financially with the costs we are incurring now. Your gift, as always, is tax-deductible and will be used to open our doors faster. I have included an envelope for your gift or you can give online at Please feel free to reach out to me personally if you have questions or concerns. My personal cell is 903-456-4317.

Thank you for supporting Raffa and for your prayers!

Help us Rebuild Raffa

Raffa Clinic sustains storm damage

As you may know, downtown Greenville had a storm last week on Wednesday evening that caused quite a bit of damage to multiple buildings. Our clinic originally reported that we were good and we asked you to pray for our other area businesses and homes that had been damaged. Unfortunately, the storms that came through on Sunday proved that to not be true. When we arrived at the clinic Monday morning we were greeted with a good deal of water damage and it was found that our roof had been badly damaged after all. Our staff is working diligently in our clinic to salvage what can be saved, but we are also realizing that there is much that will need to be replaced.

At the time of this writing, we are waiting for an insurance adjuster to know what will be covered. Our roofer has tarped the roof to try to keep further damage from occurring. We have large industrial blowers and dehumidifiers running 24/7 to attempt to dry out the building.

Due to the damage sustained, Raffa Clinic will be closed to see any medical patients until we are safe to re-open. But we are still here to serve them! We are reached out to other area pregnancy clinics in Rockwall, Paris, and Sulphur Springs and they have agreed to see any patient we refer over. They just need to call us and we can help them set up that appointment.

Ridgecrest Baptist Church has graciously lent us some classroom spaces so that our pregnancy and parenting classes can continue with minimal interruption. We truly appreciate the support and we know our Raffa families are thankful as well because it is through these classes they earn the diapers and things they need for their babies.

We are asking you to help support our efforts to #rebuildraffa and we can’t wait to re-open and show you how the Lord used this storm to make us better so that we can better serve our community! If you would like to help us by giving, please visit and give now. As more material needs surface or the need for volunteers to help with clean up or repairs surface we will share them on our facebook page at so please follow us there for the most recent updates and needs. We just posted a video there with a look at the damage. Here is a link to that video post

Thank you for all you do to support Raffa Clinic.

Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you for helping us #rebuildraffa
